11. Baking Soda
Baking soda is another way to treat scabies. Its alkaline content can help relieve the itching that comes with scabies. With its alkaline PH of 9, it’s safe enough to use n the skin and at the same effective enough to terminate the mites.
You just have to make it into a thick paste by adding some water. Then apply on the affected skin and leave for fifteen to thirty minutes. You can also add baking soda to your warm bath.
10. Apple Cider Vinegar
Vinegar is one of the earliest treatments for scabies. It is effective whether used directly on the skin or added to a bath. It is essentially an acidic solution. When applied to the skin, it drops the pH level, making the environment uninhabitable for scabies mites.
To use apple cider vinegar to treat scabies, you can apply it directly to the affected area. You can also add it to your warm bath.
9. Cayenne Pepper
The capsaicin in cayenne pepper can help reduce pain. It can desensitize the neurons in the skin to alleviate itching. However, it has been established that cayenne pepper can kill mites.
Nonetheless, it can be used to relieve pain and itching. You just have to add a cup of cayenne pepper to your hot bath. Soak until the runs cold. If you want to apply it directly to your skin, add some water until it thickens.
8. Turmeric
Turmeric has antiseptic properties that can help treat scabies. Its Aromatic tumerone content has antimicrobial properties that may kill the mite. Turmeric also contains curcumin which can fight inflammation and help heal wounds that comes with scabies.
Turmeric can be applied to the affected area as a thick paste. Cover the affected area with gauze and leave overnight.
