Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms, Signs, Causes, And Treatments

8. Constant Hunger

Constant hunger is another frequent sign of type 2 diabetes. This occurs when the cells are unable to absorb sugar from the bloodstream. The cells ultimately lose energy, causing the individual to always feel hungry. To alleviate hunger, the blood sugar levels must return to normal.

It makes no difference how recent or how much the individual has eaten. There is constant hunger because the body is not receiving enough energy from the food intake.

7. Tingling Of Hands And Feet

An excess of glucose in the blood can impair nerve function. The patient may experience tingling, lack of feeling (numbness), and scorching pain in the arms, hands, legs, and feet.

High blood glucose levels can result in diabetic neuropathy, a common complication associated with type 2 diabetes. Diabetes neuropathy can cause numbness or tingling in the hands, fingers, toes, and feet.

6. Fatigue And Tiredness

Individuals who cannot control their blood sugar typically suffer from hyperglycemia or high blood sugar. This can cause them to experience fatigue. Studies have shown that individuals experiencing extreme tiredness and fatigue from type 2 diabetes find it difficult to function.

Experts now refer to this as “diabetic fatigue.” This is a result of having either too high or too low blood sugar levels.

5. Gum Diseases

Diabetes may impair the body’s capacity to fight against infections, resulting in gingivitis and eventually periodontal gum disease. These gum diseases can damage the bones and gums that support the teeth. The gums may detach from the teeth, resulting in loose teeth.

Periodontal gum disease is the most prevalent and dangerous oral condition associated with type 2 diabetes. Without treatment, the illness progresses from irritated gums to tooth loss.
